What is a CFD?
A Contracts for Difference (CFD) is an agreement, between you and Delta Index, to exchange the difference in the value of a particular share between the time at which the contract is opened and the time at which it is closed.
What are the advantages of trading CFDs?
The advantages of trading CFDs are :
- Leverage increases your potential gains
- Low & transparent cost structure
- You can "short" the market
- Dividends are paid in cash
- Access to global markets from one trading platform
What is margin trading?
Margin trading is where a client puts funds on deposit with Delta Index as collateral against an open position. The main advantage of margin trading is that a client only has to put up a certain percentage of the value of a position to gain access to a much larger position, this is known as leverage. Leverage magnifies the potential for both losses and gains.
How can I profit using CFDs in a falling market?
You can profit by using a CFD in a falling market, by opening a short position CFD. This means that you will profit if the market continues to fall.
What markets do you offer?
We offer a range of equities including the top 100 German equities.
What are the risks?
Contracts for Difference are leveraged trading products; this means that you only have to put up a small proportion of capital to gain exposure to a much larger position. While leverage has the potential to greatly increase potential gains, it also has the ability to greatly increase potential losses as you are exposed to the value of a much larger position.
Can I receive dividends with CFDs?
Dividends are applied to your account on the ex-dividend date. Clients who hold long positions on the ex-dividend date will receive a payment equivalent to 100% of the dividend on that date. Clients who hold short position CFD trades on the ex-dividend date will be debited for the full value of the dividend.
What are the tax implications of trading CFDs?
While tax treatment varies across jurisdictions, broadly speaking, any gains (including dividend income and interest payments) made on CFD trading are liable to Capital Gains TAX (CGT). Gains are off-settable against losses. Of course investors should seek their own tax advice to confirm this.
How do I transfer funds into my Delta Index CFD account?

Why are some trades denominated in different currencies?
All CFD trades are denominated in the currency of the underlying stock and this is why CFD trades are denominated in different currencies. For example a trade on an American stock will be in dollars, a trade on a UK stock will be in sterling and a trade on a German stock will be in Euro. However your currencies must be converted into Euro before you can withdraw them from your account.
Do I own the shares if I buy a CFD?
When you trade a CFD, you do not take ownership of the underlying asset because the agreement reached between the two trading parties of the CFD, is to exchange the profit or loss on a stated transaction and this does not involve any exchange of ownership of the underlying asset.
Is there a maximum opening contract value?
